EXAM CASE STUDY 1: The representation of an event: Grenfell Fire Disaster
EXAM KEY QUESTION:
How did the ITV breakfast show ('Good Morning Britain') represent (portray) the tragedy of Grenfell, the morning after the event?
(10 marks)
Success Criteria:
mention the use of camera, choice of interviews, use of sound and for A* the use of editing to inform the audience.
(Structure: Point, Evidence, Audience:
EXAMPLE: The anchors/presenters are represented as upset and concerned The use of the two mid shot is close enough to show this, particularly their facial expression. The mid shot also allows the audience to see the image of St Pauls which reminds audiences it is London news.The overall effect is that the audience will be shocked and surprised as they announce the headline of Grenfell. (3 marks)
